Practical Informations

The conference will take place in the Science 3 building of the Campus 2 of the University (see map below). On this page you will find informations about: the travel to Caen, the transportations in Caen, the hotels and the restaurant, and our campus.

The most convenient way to come to Caen is to travel first to Paris, and then to take the train at the Saint-Lazare Station in Paris. The train journey from Saint-Lazare to Caen takes approx. 2 hours (±15 min depending on the train). Once at the train station in Caen, take the Tram directly in front of the main exit in direction of "Caen Campus 2" or "Hérouville Saint-Clair".

Once in Caen you can use the tram between the train station, the hotels and the campuses. Tickets can be bought from machines at each tram stop (but not in the tram itself). There are two tram lines (A and B) which both go through the train station and the center of the town (Saint-Pierre stop) where the hotels are located. Cf also this map of the lines. For the Campus 2 take the tram line A in direction of "Caen Campus 2". The Science 3 building lies directly on the left of the terminal stop. The journey from the train station to the Campus 2 takes approx. 25 minutes.

Hotels and Restaurant

The speakers and participants are accomodated at the Hôtel des Quatrans (nearest tram stop: Quatrans) or at the Hôtel du Château (nearest tram stops: Bernières and Saint-Pierre). The Appart'City hotel is located near Campus 2 (tram stops: Claude Bloch or Côte de Nacre). For the lunch breaks we will use self-service restaurant on Campus 2. The conference dinner on Thursday 9 will take place at the Carlotta restaurant, which is located in the city center (tram stop: Bernières).

The red "T" on the plan opposite denotes the terminal stop of the Tram, "Caen Campus 2". The meeting takes place in the "S3" building (Sciences 3), in the wing marked with an "M". Participants will be welcomed on Thursday morning in Room S3 207 (third floor), and the talks will take place in Room S3 124 (second floor).

Internet Access

Wireless internet access is available in most parts of the buildings of the University, and the easiest solution is to connect to the "eduroam" network if you have an eduroam account.
