About Tatihou island:Located in Cotentin, Basse-Normandie, France, off the harbour of Saint-Vaast-La-Hougue, the island of Tatihou is a natural area of 28 ha that becomes a peninsula at low tide. Learn more about Tatihou.
Crossing from Saint Vaast La Hougues to the island of Tatihou: There is a boat to go from St-Vaast-La-Hougue to Tatihou (at both high and low tide). At low tide (times of the tides), it is also possible to cross by walk.
The crossing by boat takes about ten minutes.
There will be a special boat for the conference (price covered by the organization):
- On June 26th at 6:15PM from the harbour of Saint Vaast La Hougue to Tatihou.
- On July 1st at 9:30AM from Tatihou to Saint Vaast La Hougues.
Access to Saint Vaast La Hougues
By car: take the N13, direction Cherbourg. Parking on the quays at St-Vaast-La-Hougue.
With public transports: By train to Valognes, on the line Paris-Cherbourg. Then by regional bus from Valognes to St Vaast La Hougues ( bus time schedule).
Suggested route for your arrival :
- Train Paris Saint Lazare 12:59 --> Valognes 3:57PM
or Paris Saint Lazare 1:56PM --> Valognes 5:21PM
- Bus Valognes train station 5:35PM --> Harbour of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue 6:08PM
We will make sure that the boat waits for participants taking this bus in case of delay. It is also possible to arrive earlier and to take another boat in the afternoon (around one boat per hour, price covered by the conference).
For the return trip on July 1st, there are at least two options to go to Paris:
- Bus Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue 10:43AM --> Valognes 11:16AM
- Train Valognes 1:00PM --> Paris Saint-Lazare 4:02PM
or
- Share a taxi from Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue to Valognes, and take the train Valognes 11:02AM --> Paris Saint-Lazare 2:02PM.
